Grey Blending breaks that cycle by working with the grey instead of racing to hide it.
Grey Blending only works if you're comfortable with some visible grey. That's why it needs less maintenance. If you want zero visible grey, full-coverage colouring is the right choice, and we'll say so plainly at your Grey Blending Plan appointment.
The Grey Blending Plan
Your Grey Blending journey begins with a Grey Blending Plan appointment. In this focused 30-minute session, we'll credit the fee, assess your hair, review your colour history and examine your grey pattern. We also do your patch test, so it's completed well before any colour goes on, and we build your personalised plan together. Because Grey Blending happens in stages over 1 to 2 years, this session is the foundation for everything that follows, not a formality before the real work.
The Plan appointment is a paid session. If you book before you leave, we'll credit the fee toward your booking.
Stage 1: Preparation
If you've been colouring your hair already, you'll likely start with a Grey Blending Preparation appointment — a minimum 4-hour session. We place foils to mimic your natural grey pattern, covering up to around 70%, specifically to break your existing colour into something softer and lighter. This isn't blending yet — it's removing the hard block of old colour that would otherwise stop a soft transition from forming.
Not everyone needs this stage.
If your grey hasn't been touched by previous colour, Preparation isn't needed — you can move straight into building your transition area.
Because Preparation is a colour correction rather than a standard service, it's priced individually. You'll receive your quote after your Grey Blending Plan appointment.

Stage 2: Building the Transition Area
Over your next 2–3 visits, we build a transition area — a zone between your new growth and your ends where grey is left transparent rather than covered. This is what stops a hard regrowth line from forming: instead of jumping straight from natural grey to solid colour, there's a soft buffer connecting the two, built gradually across visits.
2–3 visits, every 6–8 weeks — stretching to 8–10 as it builds
Stage 3: Your Decision Point
Once your transition area is established, you choose:
- Keep colouring — future colour matches your transition area, so there's no restart or mismatch, and your maintenance rhythm is far lighter than a standard root touch-up.
- Go fully natural — new growth stays untouched, your transition area blends with incoming grey, and your ends gradually connect into it.
Both paths use the same process up to this point. The decision is genuinely open until your transition area is built — nothing before that point locks you into one direction.
